Course Objectives

International business development

  • Learn to identify the countries or areas where international business development in a global environment is subject to volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity
  • Learn to find the best balance between globalization and localization in the internationalization strategy of a company: a key issue in international management
  • Learn to assess the international strategic capacity of a company and identify competences to be acquired or developed
  • Using the broad guidelines of the internationalization strategy, select the best-suited entry mode for the country or area in question, taking into account the cost of capital, income, risk and control
  • Learn to build an organization in line with strategic choices of international business development by including an evolving perspective
  • Learn to make international strategic choices within the various functions of a company; identify key implications and processes to be implemented
  • At the end of this course, you should be able to define the international strategy of a firm and the way that this should be implemented in line with its core competences and the global environment of its industry
